Match rules and settings
The following rules are
the recommended settings for Clanbase CounterStrike Ladder
matches. We suggest that you write down "Standard CB rules" in
the rules field if you want to use these rules and settings. Since
there are three different scoring systems, we suggest that you
also specify what scoring system you use in the rules field. (Example:
Standard CB rules + Charges Only)
If you want to use different
settings, rules or maps we have no problem with that, but then
you have to write down all the settings you want to see changed
in the rules field - and your opponent has to agree on them ofcourse.
If you don't write anything down, your opponent can assume that
the match will be played with the standard settings and rules.
(Example: If you want to play with Freezetime 0 seconds instead
of the standard Freezetime 6 seconds, you should write down: Standard
CB Rules + Charges Only + mp_freezetime 0).
- There are three different scoring
systems. It is up to the clans to agree on the scoring system
they want to use, please specify this in the 'rules field'.
If nothing is agreed upon we can assume that all played rounds
count.
- All rounds count: This
is considered the standard scoring system. All roundwins
in the entire game count. The default timelimit is 20
minutes (mp_timelimit 20) and maxrounds is disabled (mp_maxrounds
0).
- Charges Only: On DE maps
only the T wins count and on CS maps only the CT wins
count. It is strictly forbidden to do a mass suicide,
kill your teammates on purpose or end the round in any
other unsportive way to gain money. The default timelimit
is 20 minutes (mp_timelimit 20) and maxrounds is disabled
(mp_maxrounds 0).
- Maxrounds: Maps aren't
played with a timelimit but with mp_maxrounds set. The
default maxrounds is 10 (mp_maxrounds 10) and timelimit
is disabled (mp_timelimit 0).
- A match is played on two maps, both
teams get to choose their own map. Each map will be played
one time as CT and one time as T.
- The map list is: de_aztec, as_oilrig,
de_dust2, de_vertigo, cs_siege, cs_thunder, de_cbble, de_dust,
cs_747, de_vegas, de_prodigy, cs_assault, cs_office, cs_italy,
de_inferno, cs_backalley, cs_militia, de_train, de_rotterdam,
de_nuke.
- All matches are played with the following
settings:
-
- pausable 1
- allow_spectators 0
- mp_buytime 0.5
- mp_roundtime 4
- mp_friendly_grenade_damage 0
- mp_friendlyfire 0
- mp_c4timer 35
- mp_freezetime 6
- mp_forcechasecam 1
- mp_fadetoblack 0
- mp_footsteps 1
- mp_flashlight 1
- mp_autocrosshair 0
- mp_limitteams 0
- mp_logfile 1
- mp_logmessages 1
- mp_autoteambalance 0
- mp_autokick 0
- mp_tkpunish 0
- mp_hostagepenalty 0
- sv_aim 0
- sv_cheats 0
- sv_maxspeed 320

- sv_airaccelerate 3
- sv_maxrate 9999

Cheating and anti-cheating
- As a general rule we have: "All programs
running outside of Halflife which change the gameplay are
not allowed, except for voice communication programs like
Roger Wilco and BattleCom. Everything that alters the gameplay
of CS that was originally meant by the makers of the mod is
also not allowed." This is a pretty global description, but
we rely on the clans to know right from wrong. Because there
are always things that are 'on the edge' we will handle a
few things we get a lot of questions about (Please note that
this list will be updated once new cheats, bugs or exploits
are discovered):
- Custom models and skins are not
allowed. This goes for the player models/skins as well
as the weapon models/skins. The only exception to this
rule are the 'high fps' player models which can be downloaded
and the "high fps" weapon models which can be downloaded
.
- Replacing all your skins with
one T or CT skins is not allowed. This means for example
that you can not have all Terror's use the Arctic model
or all CT's use the SAS model.
- Custom map textures are not allowed.
- BunnyJumping is not allowed. Even
though it requires skill to do we still feel it is exploiting
a bug in the HL code. To make sure BunnyJumping is not
possible the following server variables have to be set:
sv_airmove 0 and sv_airaccelerate 3.
- Mapswimming is not allowed. It
is exploiting a bug in the map and is considered a cheat.
- Hostage jumping is not allowed.
It is exploiting a bug in the map and is considered a
cheat.
- Changing the values of variables
like monolight, alphamin, lightgamma and texgamma is not
allowed. Even though they are HL settings/commands, they
have the same effect as for example colored models or
lambert - which are both not allowed. Changing your gamma
and brightness is allowed ofcourse.
- During the match all the players have
to make a screenshot which shows: one CT, a T and the scoreboard.
All players will come together at a central point of the map
where all the screenshots will be taken. It is strictly forbidden
to kill or hurt your teammates and opponents at this time.
After the match both clanleaders can exchange these screenshots
if needed. Not being able to show the screenshots will result
in a default loss. If you do not wish to make these screenshots
please put this in the rules.
- All matches should be played with
PunkBuster (PB) enabled. PunkBuster can be downloaded from
the
PunkBuster site. If you use PB then you can expect all
players to have tested their PunkBuster client before joining
the game. This means that they should be certain they will
not be getting any cheat violation. If they do get
a cheat violation, it can only mean that the player had the
intention to cheat and his clan will receive a default loss.
For more information about the violations you can get check
out the
punkbuster manual. If you do not have a server that runs
PB you should put this in the rules field.
Miscellaneous rules
- If a bomb explodes after the timelimit
has been reached it will not count as a win for the Terrors.
- Clans often have trouble deciding
who starts as CT or T and what map is played first. To solve
that problem use the following system:
- In case one map is played the
clan with the lowest rank will get to choose if they start
as T or CT.
- In case two maps are played both
clans get to choose if they start as T or CT on their
own map. The clan with the lowest rank will get to choose
what map is played first.
- Substituting a player during the match
is only allowed in between maps, or in case of extreme connection
problems during the game.
- If a player drops because of a technical
error you should pause the match at the end of the round (never
during a round). The maximum time you can pause is 5 minutes,
which is enough time to reboot and reconnect. The maximum
total pause time is 10 minutes per map per team. Tactical
time outs are not allowed.
